Sympathy and Condolence Gifts
A co-worker or friend has just lost someone in their family. What do you send? Flowers? Sure that makes the logical choice. Then YOU have a death in your family and you look around the funeral home and think, what are we going to do with ALL these dying flowers? A couple are nice of course and you think maybe you can take some home, but you already have a bunch at home as well.
Some families ask for a donation instead of flowers and that is certainly an option. But have you considered sending a basket of comfort food instead of flowers for your condolence wishes?
A nice basket with crackers, cheese, spreads, fruit and nuts can be shared with family and friends or opened at a later time when things calm down a bit. Or send a breakfast tray with an assortment of jams, crackers, melba toast, cheese and fruits. None perishable items will allow them to open when they want without any added pressure that it will spoil.
A sympathy gift basket is a welcome gesture that they will appreciate and thank you for later.
